Samantha's Music Studio

gardenflute.jpgSamantha is a flutist, vocalist and teaching artist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from Cornish College of the Arts. During her time at Cornish, Samantha focused her studies on contemporary music and chamber ensemble performance.

Samantha began playing the piano when she was 5 years old. Shortly thereafter she joined her school's choir, and then at age 10, she picked up the flute. Growing up, Samantha was never far from a rehearsal, whether it was for her school band and pit orchestras, Bel Canto Girls Choir, or the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony.

Samantha has been teaching privately since 2005. In her studio, located on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Samantha teaches flute, piano, ear training and music theory.

In addition to teaching in her studio, Samantha works with community organizations to develop workshops and residencies and is a Teaching Artist with the Seattle Symphony, where she teaches classes ranging from instrument making and the science of sound to Carnegie Hall's Link Up residency program.
